Scout Canning 'Smoked Wild Pink Salmon in Olive Oil', Alaska

DECANTsf is very excited to feature Scout, a new woman-owned and woman-founded cannery based in the Pacific North West. From watching fishmongers unpack their daily catches in Prince Edward Island, to perfecting her clam chowder, seafood has long been a part of Chef Charlotte’s life. After working in Canada’s most creative seafood kitchens, she began to wonder how the home chef could enjoy more of it locally.

Scout's mission is "to be the most trusted seafood brand in North America while reducing food waste and protecting our oceans". And, being chef-created products, they are divinely delicious!

Scout contributes 1% of sales to environmental nonprofits that protect our waterways and oceans.

Scout’s Wild Pink Salmon is wild-caught and sourced from the chilly waters of Alaska that flow from the Arctic Ocean to the Bering Sea. This Wild Pink Salmon is skinless and boneless, hand-cut and hand-packed with a pinch of natural sea salt. Each can of our hearty and flaky Pink Salmon features 35 grams of protein and is packed with Omega-3s.

Scout sources wild Pink Salmon from fisheries in Alaska, where this specific species is the smallest and currently the most abundant salmon species in Alaska.

Scout’s sourcing partner, Northline Seafoods of Sitka, Alaska, works with fresh-caught Pink Salmon directly from MSC-certified regional fishers and then immediately processes the salmon on a floating processor, giving consumers the freshest, highest quality product to the consumer’s home, while supporting responsible fisheries in the region.
