Ever feel intimidated when ordering a bottle of wine, or lost for words when explaining why you hated that Malbec?
Join the NYU Alumni Club of SF and Simi Grewal (Gallatin '10), Co-founder and Sommelier of DECANTsf Wine Bar & Bottle Shop, for a one-hour virtual class and tasting that will teach you how to confidently speak about wine while enjoying it too!
This interactive tasting will use three very different but very common wine styles to help identify the major aroma and flavor characteristics we all can recognize, but don't always have the words for. Are there really that many sweet red wines in the word? Is all Chardonnay oaky? (The answer to both is no, but join Simi to learn why!)
This exclusive event will feature three different examples to illustrate the point will be an un-oaked white wine, a white wine that spends time in oak, and an Old World red wine that emphasizes tannin and acidity.
Grab our NYU Tasting Kit and receive three full bottles of the wines Simi will be talking about in class.
DECANTsf is an educational safe space that enthusiastically encourages conversation– remember: there are no dumb questions!
