About Decant SF

DECANTsf tastes wine BLIND.

Our goal is to remove any personal bias on producer or reputation and taste primarily for QUALITY and VALUE. This is to ensure to our clients that every bottle selected on the shelves at DECANTsf is hand-picked and vetted, and gives them the best bang for their buck.

WE ONLY ACCEPT WINES FROM SUSTAINABLY FARMED VINEYARDS. Organic and Biodynamic are preferred, but certification is not necessary. We are always on the hunt to diversify representation on our shelves, and often carry wines made by BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and women-identifying winemakers.

We adore natural wine, but we don’t like (or sel) poorly-made, dirty “natty” wines.

We are very interested in pop-ups
and collaborations with Bay Area artisans creating consumables or
beautiful things! We also love books and snacks, water and kombucha, tea and chocolate, etc. If you have a project you think might be a good fit for the shop, please contact us!

Orders & Shipping

  • All purchases at DECANTsf, in-store or online, must be made by an adult aged 21 years or older.
  • All in-store orders must be picked up by an adult over age 21.
  • All shipments must be signed for by a person over 21 years of age, no exceptions.
  • Business addresses are strongly recommended for shipping.
  • All shipment prices include the common carrier Adult Signature Required fee.
  • All local deliveries and in-store pickups must be accompanied by a valid government-issued ID.
  • DECANTsf is a 42-license type and no minors may enter nor remain for any time.
  • We check IDs.
  • Under California law, it is illegal to accept returns of wine/alcohol once sold, unless the product is defective.
  • If you need to return an item, please contact us with your order number and details about the product you would like to return. We will respond quickly with instructions for how to return or exchange items from your order.
  • We do not take returns on any gift cards, gift bags, food, beer/cider, perishable food items, or other items labeled "gourmet" or "gifts" on our online store.
  • By placing your order, you agree to the above policies.

  • Although infrequent, corked wine or otherwise flawed bottles do occur, and we are happy to offer a replacement bottle or store credit. Please note, the return of any bottle suspected of flaw must be made within 30 days of purchase and must have manager inspection and verification before any action is taken.
  • Returns policy does not extend to heat-or cold-damage or breakage incurred during shipment, nor bottle variation of "natural" wines. We are committed to doing our best in ensuring proper temperature-controlled storage and provenance of all our bottles.
  • We cannot be responsible for bottles older than 5 (five) years from the current vintage, or items marked or advertised as "rarities/collectibles/library". No refunds/replacements will be offered on these bottles.
  • DECANTsf Ships from their San Francisco, California shop Tuesdays through Fridays.
  • We ship to all states EXCEPT AL, AR, KY, OK, MS, UT.
  • International Shipping: We do not offer international shipping.
  • Tracking numbers will be emailed to you for each box shipped.
  • All alcohol orders require 21+ signature.
  • Businesses addresses are strongly recommended.
  • Shipping Rates: Shipping rates for wine orders are determined by the weight and total number of bottles shipped per order, the destination zip code, selected shipping option, insurance (for most destinations), plus shipping material and handling fees.
  • Please note that listed shipping charges in the shopping cart are estimates. Final shipping charge is calculated based on bottle size, weight and carrier. Not all bottles and gift sets weigh the same.
  • Any major difference in charge from your quote at time of purchase to final rate at time of delivery will be reflected with a charge or credit to your method of payment within 72 hours.

ATTENTION APPLE PAY / GOOGLE PAY / DIGITAL WALLET CUSTOMERS:

Shopify will automatically select "ground shipping" if you complete your purchase via your mobile digital wallet. Please edit your preference (shipping method, in-store pick up, local delivery) before you finalize your purchase on your mobile device.

  • Most Northern CA destinations ship overnight; other West Coast destinations are usually 2-day turn-around.
  • UPS Ground may take 5-10 business days for delivery, dependent on delivery address.
  • For out-of-state destinations, we recommended 2 or 3-Day Air to ensure minimal effect from heat or cold during transit.
  • Shipments to Hawaii and Alaska are made only via UPS 2-day Air.
  • We do NOT ship BEER, CIDER, or PERISHABLE FOOD.
  • Same Day Shipping: Please call DECANTsf or place your order online before 2PM PST. If the wine you're requesting is in stock Tuesday through Saturdays, we will try to accommodate you.
  • Unless you have a valid alcohol shipping contract with either company, we cannot ship using your personal or business common carrier account number.
  • We are only able to deliver to one address per order.
  • Business addresses are strongly recommended for shipping.
  • UPS will not leave alcohol deliveries unattended.
  • All alcohol shipments require 21+ signature.
  • We do not ship to P.O. boxes.
  • UPS will deliver to a UPS Access Point if you have a mailbox there. Please include this address and all pertinent delivery information for shipping.
  • Shipping carriers will attempt to deliver three times, then items are returned to our shop. A re-delivery fee of $25 will be incurred for a second shipment. DECANTsf is not responsible for any weather-related damage incurred during re-deliveries.
  • CHECK YOUR DELIVERY ADDRESS. If there is an error in your shipping address, contact us ASAP at (415)913-07256 or shop@decantsf.com to correct the error before we ship.
  • Any issues in delivering to an address due to purchaser's clerical error is not the responsibility of DECANTsf. If you need to change the address after shipping, each occurrence will incur a $65 rerouting fee. A re-delivery fee of $25 will be incurred for a second shipment of any items returned to DECANTsf due to address errors.
  • We deliver same-day via Ship Day
  • All recipients are required to show proof of age (21+) with a legal government ID.
  • Alcohol cannot be left unattended.
  • Delivery window is 1 PM - 6 PM.
  • Leave delivery instructions in "notes to seller" field.
  • Order by 5PM for same day delivery.
  • If you choose to leave a tip, all tips go to drivers.
  • Recipients receive a text message with live tracking.
  • Delivery fee is $22 within 2.5 miles of DECANTsf, and then $26 within the rest of San Francisco (varies by zipcode).
  • If sending a gift, please write your gift note, order instructions, and recipients phone number in "notes to seller" fields.
  • We delivery Tuesday-Sunday, 1 PM - 6 PM.
  • Please use "notes for seller" field for delivery instructions.
  • Delivery will only be made once there is confirmation of a time window and someone 21+ (with ID) to accept delivery.
  • All orders are available for same day pickup, Tues - Sunday during normal business hours.
  • Orders placed on Monday will be available after 12:30pm the following Tuesday.
  • You may pick up in-store, or call us as you approach and we will bring your order to your car. (415) 913-7256
  • Pickups must be accompanied by Valid 21+ ID
  • You may choose to purchase and hold bottles in store while you build a case for shipping, delivery, or pick up.
  • At checkout, select "pick up in store" and in the order notes, indicate you would like to "hold in-store to build a full case".
  • Items left at DECANTsf over 60 days will incur a $5/month storage
    fee. These will be sent as an invoice monthly, and can be used towards a future shipping charge.
  • Orders left for longer than 6 months (180 days) will be considered abandoned.
  • Your pre-arrival order payment will be charged upon purchase, and then we will confirm shipping when it arrives at DECANTsf.
  • Due to the variable nature of pre-arrivals, arrival dates to DECANTsf are subject to change.
  • Any held orders not picked up or shipped within 6 months (180 days) of purchase are considered abandoned and will be restocked with no refund, credit, or exchange.
  • For Pre-arrivals, this is from 6 months of DECANTsf receiving the product.

By placing your order, you agree to the above policies and authorize DECANTsf to engage a common carrier on your behalf to deliver the merchandise to your specified address. We make no representation as to the legal right of anyone to ship or import wines into any state or country outside of California. When selecting to ship to another state, you assume all responsibility for determining whether you may lawfully import alcoholic beverages into that state. As interstate shipping laws are continually changing, please check with an appropriate agency before placing your order. Please note that interstate and international shipments may incur additional taxes and tariffs from the final destination location. These additional fees are
the responsibility of the customer.

The Bottle Cult Subscriptions

  • Each release, you'll receive a selection of hand-crafted, small-production wines from sustainably, organically, or biodynamically farmed vineyards.
  • DECANTsf sommeliers Cara & Simi curate the clubs by blind-tasting and searching for the most interesting wines for your table or cellar.
  • To see previous released wines, check our Club Archive.
  • You may pause, skip, or cancel by logging into the member portal, or by contacting us at clubs@decantsf.com or by calling (415) 913-7256 during business hours.
  • All changes must be made before 12:01AM on the first of day of the club period (first of each month or quarter: Jan, Apr, Jul, Oct).
  • You can manage your subscription through the member portal, which you'll be able to log into after subscribing.
  • At DECANTsf, Cara and Simi answer your emails and calls. We can help you with anything you need, we're just a call or email away.
  • Email clubs@decantsf.com for any needs.
  • You may cancel or change your subscription by logging into the member portal, or by contacting us at clubs@decantsf.com or by calling (415) 913-7256 during business hours.
  • All changes must be made before 12:01AM on the first of day of the club period (first of each month or quarter: Jan, Apr, Jul, Oct).

  • Like other clubs, the Tin of the Month is a recurring subscription.
  • The price per month varies based on the products we feature. You can expect the tins to range from $9 to $32/mo depending on the
    style, and we will balance the pricing out throughout the year.
  • You can add on to your current subscription by purchasing it directly through DECANTsf.com, or by emailing Clubs@DECANTsf.com.
  • Crustacean Shellfish Allergies will be accommodated- simply choose the ALLERGY product option. No other allergies can be accommodated.
  • When you purchase a subscription you'll receive repeat deliveries. These are based on the subscription duration and frequency that you select.
  • Your payment details will be stored securely and you'll be charged for each of these deliveries.
  • DECANTsf does not have access to your credit card information. Automatic payments happen on the first day of the club period at 12:01 AM.
  • If you need to change the credit card on file, you can do so from the member portal or call us.
  • If your automatic payment fails, the system will attempt 4 additional charges over subsequent days. After 5 total failed charges, your subscription will automatically cancel
  • Some subscriptions may auto-renew at the end of their duration. If you don’t want to renew a subscription you can cancel it.
  • If you want to cancel or change your subscription, you can do it at any time from the membership portal. Your order confirmation emails have links to your order. You can also email or call us.
