Bachelet-Monnot, 2018' Vielles Vignes' Rouge, Maranges, Burgundy, France
Bachelet-Monnot, 2018 'Vielles Vignes' Rouge, Maranges, Burgundy, France
Brothers Marc and Alexandre Bachelet formed domain Bachelet-Monnot in 2005, after their uncle (Monnot) and their father came to their aide in helping them to acquire vineyard land. They are thirs generation vignerons an enviable catalogue of top Côte de Beaune vineyards: St. Aubin En Remilly, the top sites in Maranges, Puligny 1er Cru Folatières, Puligny 1er Cru Referts, Batard Montrachet, Chassagne Montrachet, and some of the best parcels in Santenay. Since their first vintage in 2005, they have refined their approach to farming and winemaking to the point where they are now firmly established as two of Burgundy’s finest talents. These wines are on the edge of greatness, and it is difficult to say how long they will be available to the larger market before joining the ranks of Roulot, PYCM and Mikulski. Electric, racy and layered, this wine is for any Burgundy lover.

Tasting Notes: Red fruited and bright, this delicious Pinot Noir gives you all the hallmarks of a classic red Burgundy at an incrdible value. There is structure here as well, displaying a bit of tanning and a richer body, but the layers of complexity and acidity bring tons of balance and enjoyment to this bottle!
