Brick House 2019 Gamay Noir, Ribbon Ridge, Willamette Valley, OR
Brick House Vineyard produces wines from their own 30 acres of estate grown fruit. The vineyards are planted in three great grape varieties of Burgundy: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Gamay. Their vineyards have been Certified Organic since 1990 and Demeter Biodynamic since 2005. In what was once the farm's horse barn, they now produce about 3,800 cases using native yeast and minimal handling.
Winemaker: Doug Tunnell
Farming: Biodynamic (Certified)
Terroir: The fruit comes from the estate in Ribbon Ridge Vineyard of Willamette Valley, which sits between 440-500 feet above sea level. The vines grow on beds of marine sediment and silica and have been certified organic since 1992.
Vinification: Once harvested, the fruit is fully de-stemmed and placed in open-top tanks for natural alcoholic fermentation.
Aging: The wine then ages for 12 months in 100% neutral oak.
