Casaretti 2020 ‘Brol di Calmasino’ Bianco, Veneto, Italy
Stefano Rossi and his brother Giammaria are the third-generation to work their family’s estate, which since 1911 has been growing vines on the glacial hillsides of Lake Garda.
- Farming: Organic
- Varieties: 90% Garganega, 10% Cortese
- Winemaker: Stefano & Giammaria Rossi
- Terroir: Morainic soils on the eastern shore of Lake Garda
- Vinification: Hand harvested. Five days maceration on skins, then gentle pressing and native yeast fermentation in 500L tonneau barrel
- Aging: Appx. 8 months in tonneau and concrete with periodic battonage, then at least 3 months in the bottle.
- Tasting Notes: Soft and complex, with hints of elderflower and almond. Pairs beautifully with shellfish risotto, roasted chicken, seafood, and most cheeses.
