Daniel Bouland 2018 "Schiste Bellevue" Morgon, Beaujolais, France
Perhaps he's not yet a "name brand" producer for Beaujolais, but we like it that way, because it means we can still get our hands on these amazing bottles! Daniel Bouland is a wonderful vigneron who makes splendidly traditional wines from several different terroirs throughout Morgon.
Winemaker: Daniel Bouland
Terroir: 60 year-old vines, from a single lieu-dit, 'Bellevue,' where the soil is schist and granite.
Vinification: Daniel’s classic Morgon, traditional fermentation in tank.
Aging: Tank and 2000-L Rousseau Foudre
Tasting Notes: A silky earthy iteration of Morgon that glides across the palate with red and black fruits, notes of crushed rock, and a touch of tannin that begs you to hold on to it for just a few more years. For fans of Dutraive or Foillard, this wine is highly recommended.
