Introduced to the secrets of the Sonoma Coast in 1994, Ehren spent a full year noting the area's climate idiosyncrasies, soil elements, and coastal influences. Its steep hillsides, rocky soil, and cool temperatures made it an ideal location for cool climate varietals.
Winemaker: Ehren Jordan
Farming: Organic
Variety: Pinot Noir
Terroir: From two sites in western Sonoma; the first is situated in the eastern portion of the Petaluma Gap in the heart of the windy corridor and the second is a well-known site in Fort Ross Seaview.
Vinification: Once harvested the grapes ferment 30% whole cluster with native yeast. The wine is then aged for 11 months on its lees in 15% new French oak, with the remainder neutral.
Tasting Notes: A bright, airy, red-fruited Pinot Noir with soft red cherries, ripe pomegranate, hints of menthol, woodsy mushrooms and a long, acid-driven finish. This is a Pinot that is so delicious and light, you'll have a hard time not drinking the entire bottle in one sitting!
