Krug 167th Edition "Grande Cuvée", Champagne, France
Krug 167th Edition "Grande Cuvée", Champagne
The Greatest Champagne of All Time.
Winemaker/Chef du Cave: Eric Lebel
Krug Champagne was founded by Josef Krug in 1843 after leaving a prestigious post at another Champagne House. He refused to believe that great champagne could only be made in vintage years, and set out to offer the best champagne every year, regardless of climatic conditions. By selecting specific parcels of fruit within vineyards and vinifying them individually in wood and stainless steel barrels, the winemaker is able to pull together the best possible wines from each vintage to create his final blend.
Grape Varieties: 47% Pinot Noir, 36% Chardonnay, 17% Meunier (42% of the blend is made up of Reserve wines)
Vinification/Oak Usage: Vinified in small oak and stainless steel vessels.
