Produced in small quantities, this second wine is a gateway to the world of Château La Mission Haut-Brion. Its name is a nod to the chapel of La Mission Haut-Brion, built by Lazarist priests in 1698.
- Variety: Merlot 69%, Cabernet Sauvignon 19%, Cabernet Franc 12 %
- Terroir: Gravel, comprised of small pebbles formed of various types of quartz. It belongs to the Pessac-Léognan appellation, in the northern part of the Graves winegrowing area. The property stands opposite Château Haut-Brion.
- Vinification: 35% new oak barrels.
- Aging: Bottled from May 20th to 23rd, 2013.
- Tasting Notes: Beautiful deep, dark, red colour. La Chapelle has a nose of ripe black fruit and spice. It starts off very smooth on the palate, then gives way to a tannic structure
