Founded in 2001, Margerum is an 18-acre estate planted exclusively to Rhône varieties. They also have contracts with vineyards throughout Santa Barbara.
Doug Margerum is a long-standing and respected figure of Santa Barbara wine country, starting with his restaurant Wine Cask in 1981, Vita Nova Winery (with co-owners Bob Lindquist of Qupé and the late Jim Clendenen (Au Bon Climat).

Varieties: 47% Grenache Blanc, 23% Marsanne, 17% Roussanne, 9% Viognier, 4% Picpoul Blanc (Young vine estate fruit)
Terroir: Limestone hillsides, gravelly alluvial flatlands along Alamo Pintado Creek
Vinification: Each component fermented separately in a mix of neutral French oak barriques, large puncheons, and stainless steel.
