Peregrine 2019 Sauvignon Blanc, Central Otago, New Zealand

Peregrine Wines winery and vineyards are located in the southernmost grape-growing region in the world, at latitude 45 degrees south, in  Central Otago, the heart of New Zealand’s South Island. Central Otago is New Zealand’s only inland and elevated wine-growing region, with vineyards nestled in breathtaking river valleys, clinging to snow-capped mountainsides or perched gently on the shores of crystal clear lakes.

Peregrine Wines is named in honor of New Zealand’s endemic falcon (Karearea in Maori), a bird without rival or fear.

Winemaker: Nadine Cross

Farming: Certified Farming_Organic, hand-harvested

Variety: Sauvignon Blanc

Terroir: hand-harvested from Central Otago - Peregrine Estate Bendigo (55%) and Cromwell Basin (45%).

Vinification: Combination of whole-bunch pressing and destemmed fruit with some skin contact. The majority is cool-fermented in stainless steel with a small portion (3%) wild fermented in barrel.

Tasting Note: Vibrant aromatics and great purity of flavor combine with a distinctive minerality and fine palate texture. Fresh fennel and feijoa guava aromatics with a precise dry, flinty texture. Stone fruits, lemongrass, and herbal notes on the palate.

Other notes: Female owned and mad
